Seasonal Flowers

By Meaghan

Summer is back in full swing, and so are Florista’s summer arrangements! Every arrangement is put together with care and attention to detail, using locally grown specialty seasonal cut flowers. The vivid colors of a summer flower can bring refreshment and nostalgia into your home. Currently, Lilies, Lisianthus, Snapdragons, Basil, Sunflowers, and Zinnias are in full bloom. Also being harvested are the beautiful Rudbeckia and Echinacea, which provide a lovely warm hue to any bouquet.

On The Flower-farm

This week, along with the regular harvesting, Florista’s crew has been focused on moving from the early summer season to late summer and fall. Change is constantly happening in this business, and on the farm, that looks like what’s called flipping a bed. Flipping a bed simply involves the removal of existing plants which are done blooming, and preparation for a new crop. Keep an eye out for what’s next in store!
